A spectacular shot from 2017, during the night race at the Nevers Magny-Cours race track on July 7 and 8. Shortly after the start of the first S1 race, a thunderstorm broke out and race management brought out the red flag for the first time, to allow riders to change tires.
A new start is given. This photo was taken just before the race director brought out the red flag for the second time, as the storm turned violent and threatened safety. Thomas Chareyre and Sylvain Bidart are battling it out at the front in the pouring rain.
