The Carole race track (Seine-Saint-Denis, Paris region) hosted Round 3 of the 2026 Coupes de France Promosport on 15 and 16 May, under unpredictable weather with heavy showers on Friday and Sunday.
A mid-season round always interesting to photograph, all the more so in such shifting conditions. The rain gave me a few striking images, even if wet weather isn’t quite my favourite to shoot in. I also brought out the fish-eye in the pit lane and on the pre-grid, for a distorted geometry of the scene: machines and riders caught in the rush of tyre changes before the next downpour, with that immersive, plunging proximity the lens is known for. And finally, a few portraits in front of the track’s iconic tower — an immediately recognisable visual landmark of the Paris-region paddock.
Here is a personal selection of my favourite images. The full set of official photographs is available on the Coupes de France Promosport website.
